Former NFL quarterback Eli Manning is a legendary hero for the fans and the city of New York, as he gave the Giants two Super Bowl titles and not against just any opponent, but against Tom Brady's New England Patriots, whom he beat in the 2007 and 2011 seasons.
But in the Playoffs, when they faced the Philadelphia Eagles, Eli lost twice in the NFC Divisional Round. For this Saturday night's game, when the Giants visit the Eagles, the Manning family came out to Lincoln Financial Field to support the New York Giants.
Eli recalled his games against his hated rivals
Philadelphia fans are known to be some of the most hostile in the NFL, and when Eli faced them he received all kinds of insults from the stands. Now, when he was driving to the so-called "city of brotherly love," he came across an ad that "welcomed" him and showed him two eagles, alluding to the two games he lost against them.
Eli may have two Super Bowl rings with his name on them, but there was always a thorn in his side when he couldn't beat Philadelphia in the divisional games.
His brother Peyton trolls him through his son
Both Peyton and Eli were at the stadium, but he received a strong trolling he wasn't expecting, and it came not from the feisty Philadelphia fans, but from his nephew, son of Peyton.
Eli had promised that he would never return to Philadelphia, so when he announced that he was coming to the stadium for the game, the fans not only made the above mentioned announcement, but also gave him a big booing before the start of the game.
The worst part was seeing his nephew wearing a jersey not of the Giants, but of the Eagles, and not just any player, but that of star quarterback Jalen Hurts.
It is not known if Peyton did it to spite his brother or if the kid really likes the Eagles, but what is a fact is that Eli would have been better off if he had kept his promise not to return to that city.
